Kennywood announces new roller coaster to debut in 2010

Kennywood has released information about its next big project, a high-speed launch coaster, which is as of yet unnamed.
The coaster will travel from 0 to 80 kilometres per hour in just two seconds. It will then proceed to climb the 29-metre hill and take a 90-degree dive back down towards the ground. Three inversions will then follow.
"This roller coaster will provide a thrilling new experience for coaster lovers at Kennywood", General Manager Jerome Gibas said.
The coaster will utilise a linear synchronous motor (LSM) system to propel the train over the top hat.
U.S. manufacturer Premier Rides will be in charge of supplying and building this roller coaster.
Plans are in place to move Turnpike to make room for Kennywood's new launch coaster.
The coaster is due to open to the public in May next year.
