Kings Dominion has announced Intimidator 305, an Intamin Giga Coaster that will be the tallest coaster of its kind on the East Coast of the United States of America.

The coaster's peak will be 93 metres above the ground and passengers will travel at speeds in excess of 145 kilometres per hour.

The entire 1,554-metre journey will take just three minutes to complete. Six airtime hills and three high-speed turns will complete the course.

"Intimidator 305 will break records as the single largest capital investment in the history of Kings Dominion", said Pat Jones, Kings Dominion's Vice President and General Manager.

"The numbers speak for themselves, at a cost of $25 million, a lift hill and first drop close to the height of the park's landmark Eiffel Tower; you'll have to see it to believe it", he added.

Intimidator 305 was named after Dale Earnhardt, a renowned stock car driver. The coaster's trains were designed to mimic the look of Dale's famous black racing car.

Intimidator 305 will be located in the Congo section of Kings Dominion. It will become Kings Dominion's 15th world-class roller coaster. Intimidator 305 is set for completion in spring 2010.
